The Role
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will oversee the artistic, operational and financial management of the centre while working collaboratively with the Board to develop strategy, policies, programming and future growth opportunities.
The Manager will lead a busy and diverse arts and cultural venue, ensuring the continued delivery of high\-quality programming, strong stakeholder engagement and excellent customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Management \& Operations
- Manage the overall operations of the arts centre in line with Board\-approved objectives
- Ensure efficient day\-to\-day running of the venue and facilities
- Establish clear staff structures, responsibilities and operational procedures
- Lead, motivate and support staff and volunteers
- Oversee HR functions including payroll, rostering and staff wellbeing
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations
- Deliver a vibrant artistic and commercial programme
- Coordinate scheduling and communication with visiting companies and performers
- Deliver seasonal cinema events and maximise audience engagement and revenue
- Lead planning for the Centre’s 25th Anniversary Celebrations in 2026
- Manage budgets and financial controls responsibly
- Present monthly financial reports and updates to the Board
- Attend Board meetings and provide operational updates
- Build strong relationships with patrons, tenants, volunteers and community groups
- Develop partnerships with local businesses and stakeholders
- Promote the centre as a key cultural destination in the region
- Develop and implement a 5\-Year Strategic Business Plan
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue across box office, bar, retail and events
- Support marketing, audience development and social media promotion
- Oversee maintenance schedules and facility contracts
- Ensure the venue meets required industry and operational standards
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong leadership and management experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in project management, event delivery and marketing
- Knowledge of arts, cultural or entertainment venue operations
- Financial management and reporting experience
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities
- Vision, creativity and strategic thinking
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
