Qualifications
- A strong foundation in mathematical optimization concepts, preferably through a relevant degree, inkluding professional experience in applying mathematical optimization in a business setting
- Domain knowledge of shipping networks, design, and profitability is highly valued
- A pragmatic approach, comfortable with making informed assumptions when data is limited
- Proficiency in programming, particularly Python, is essential
- Excellent communication skills in English, with German language skills being a plus
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross\-functional teams with strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
- A results\-driven mindset with a track record of successful project delivery
- A passion for continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends
- Conceptualize, prototype, and specify new simulation and optimization tools
- Coordinate tool development with DIA/IT, providing detailed specifications
- Assess data availability, identify gaps, and collaborate to address them
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation to ensure tool accuracy and reliability
- Integrate tools into the network design process, designing efficient workflows
- Support network designers with simulation and optimization studies and create comprehensive documentation and user guides
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on tool usage
- Document learnings and identify areas for tool development and improvement
