The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join a dynamic finance team within a well-structured and forward-thinking business.
You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial insights, supporting decision-making, and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations. This is a hands-on position suited to someone looking to take ownership of management reporting and play an integral role in shaping business performance.
The business is very open to people operating at Assistant Accountant level - providing training and support to help the right person develop into the Management Accountant responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and reports
- Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger, and payroll functions
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain nominal ledgers
- Manage accruals and prepayments
- Produce monthly financial reports and KPI summaries
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit preparation
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for efficiency
- Support and, when necessary, deputise for the Head of Finance
- Contribute to continuous improvement across finance systems and processes
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA / AAT - part-qualified or QBE
- 3-5 years finance experience supporting with or preparing management accounts as an Assistant Accountant or Management Accountant
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Organised, adaptable, and able to meet deadlines
- Confident working both independently and collaboratively
Competitive salary: £35,000 - £45,000
