Management Accountant

You will be joining a well-established and growing organisation based in Cardiff, operating within a fast-paced and commercially focused environment.Due to continued growth and investment, the business is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to support the finance function and provide accurate, meaningful financial information to key stakeholders across the organisation.This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or qualified-by-experience finance professional seeking a broad role with exposure to reporting, business partnering, financial controls and process improvement.Your new role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of the monthly management accounts process whilst supporting operational teams with financial insight and analysis.This is a varied and hands-on role, combining financial reporting, cashflow management, budgeting and continuous improvement responsibilities.Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts


• Posting journals and maintaining supporting documentation


• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving discrepancies


• Maintaining the fixed asset register


• Managing weekly payment runs and supporting cashflow forecasting


• Producing variance analysis and commentary against budget


• Supporting budget preparation and financial planning activities


• Performing cost analysis and providing financial insight to stakeholders


• Preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns


• Supporting year-end audit activities and responding to auditor queries


• Reviewing and improving finance processes, controls and systems


• Supporting and guiding junior finance team members


• Providing ad hoc reporting and financial analysis to support business decision-making

What you'll need to succeed
QualificationsApplications are welcomed from:

• ACCA Qualified candidates


• Part Qualified finance professionals


• Qualified by Experience (QBE) finance professionals

Desirable

• Experience mentoring or supporting junior finance staff


• Experience improving finance systems and processes


• Exposure to commercial or operational finance environments
