Management Accountant
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Management Accountant with a strong focus on product sales and margin analysis to join our dynamic European Finance team based out of Manchester, UK. The Management Accountant role will support the wider Finance Team to deliver accurate results and financial analysis for products sold globally through our European entities. As a Management Accountant in this position, you will work in a hybrid setting, splitting your time between the office and remote work (3 days in the office per week).
To be successful in this role you will need to have a high level of attention to detail, a proactive attitude and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders to deliver tasks on time. Ideally you will have prior experience working with products, stock and margin variance analysis. We work in a fast\-paced environment with plenty of opportunity to develop, and through your work you will be responsible for identifying process improvements and driving through efficiencies.
What you will be doing:
- Prepare the sales and margin management reports and analyse the results with the aim of providing accurate results.
- Prepare, review and take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations associated with the work you and your peers undertake. Raise journals where necessary and highlight any potential risks and opportunities.
- Be part of the wider finance team that supports queries on the financial information you are preparing
- Collaborate with Account Managers to provide customers with timely and high\-quality financial information, including ad\-hoc reporting for existing and potential customers.
- Provide support for the annual sales and margin budgets and forecasts as and when required, working together with the wider finance team and the Account Managers.
- Assist and collaborate with the audit process by fulfilling the Auditor’s requests in timely and accurate manner.
- Use existing skills, knowledge and experience to add value within the Finance department and across the business by suggesting improvements to processes and controls, and where appropriate implementing those suggestions.
- Perform the role with a customer\-focused outlook striving to provide our internal stakeholders with the best possible service.
- Part qualified (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) or AAT Level 4 qualified (depending upon experience) and looking to progress to full qualification.
- Previous experience in a similar commercial role with some experience of working with products.
- Positive and proactive personality with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- At least 1 year of product, stock and margin knowledge.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail and show strong analytical skills.
- Good technical accounting knowledge.
- Advanced computer literacy skills, particularly in Excel.
- Effective organisational and time management skills.
- The role may require occasional travel to our other offices.
- Process improvement experience.
