Job Title: Maintenance Technicians
Job Location: Derby
Hourly Rate: £20.73 PAYE / £27.69 Umbrella
Hours Per Week: 45hrs minimum Days Only
Duration: 6 months+
Start Date: ASAP

Operating a diverse fleet of diesel and electric rolling stock, the company is committed to delivering safe, reliable and customer-focused rail services while maintaining the highest standards of engineering excellence.

Position Summary:
To undertake maintenance activities and redelivery repairs on a variety of rolling stock vehicles (Diesel Multiple Units (DMU)) in accordance with maintenance procedures and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and corrective maintenance activities

  • Perform component inspections, assessments and exchanges as specified in the maintenance instructions.

  • Repairing oil and coolant leaks.

  • Renewal of fixings and fastenings.

  • Pipework repairs.

  • Vehicle decal replacement.

  • Component removal and replacement

  • Window replacement.

  • Interior component renewal and refurbishment.

  • Complete all work safely and in accordance with railway industry standards and company procedures.

  • Accurately complete all maintenance documentation, inspection records and sign-off sheets provided.

  • Identify defects and report any issues that fall outside the scope of the maintenance package.

  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and safety within the depot.

  • Work collaboratively with personnel and other contractors to ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.

  • Comply with all depot rules, safety requirements and quality management procedure
Person Profile:
  • A minimum of five years' experience maintaining railway rolling stock.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.

  • Proven experience carrying out fault finding, inspection, repair and component replacement on rail vehicles.

  • Experience of planned maintenance, heavy maintenance or overhaul activities.

  • Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) experience is highly desirable.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
Education Level:
  • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent is a requirement.
