Maintenance Engineer
Job Overview
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient and reliable operation of plant, equipment and site services through effective maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair and preventative maintenance activities.
The role supports all manufacturing areas including wax, foundry, coating, finishing, machining and associated utilities, ensuring equipment downtime is minimised and operational performance is maintained.
The role requires a hands\-on, multi\-skilled engineer with strong mechanical and/or electrical fault\-finding capability, a proactive approach to maintenance and a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
*Reactive Maintenance \& Fault Finding*
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out fault diagnosis and repairs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and control system faults.
- Minimise downtime and restore plant safely and efficiently.
- Escalate recurring equipment issues where appropriate.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities in line with schedules.
- Complete inspections, servicing and component replacement activities.
- Support predictive maintenance and condition monitoring where applicable.
- Accurately record maintenance activity.
Support maintenance and repair of plant and equipment including:
- Wax assembly and injection equipment
- Shell/coating systems
- Furnaces, kilns and heat treatment equipment
- Casting and finishing equipment
- CNC machinery and ancillary equipment
- Compressors, extraction systems and site utilities
- Work in accordance with Health \& Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
- Support permit\-to\-work, isolation and LOTO procedures.
- Ensure maintenance work complies with PUWER, LOLER and site standards.
- Report hazards, near misses and equipment safety concerns.
- Support root cause analysis for equipment failures.
- Identify reliability improvement opportunities.
- Support TPM, 5S and continuous improvement activities.
- Assist with installation, commissioning and improvement projects.
- Complete maintenance records accurately and on time.
- Update maintenance logs, service records and CMMS systems where applicable.
- Report downtime issues and support performance monitoring.
- Ensure that you always adhere to safe working practices and wider Company Health and Safety policies
- Report any hazards, near misses or accidents immediately to the appropriate person in accordance with Company procedures.
- Strong fault\-finding and problem\-solving skills.

- Organised and able to prioritise workload.
- Positive and proactive attitude
- Time\-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

- Multi\-skilled (Mechanical/Electrical)
- Experience in maintenance engineering within manufacturing.
- Experience fault\-finding and repairing industrial plant/equipment.
- Experience carrying out preventative maintenance.
- Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience supporting production\-critical equipment.
- Foundry or investment casting experience.
- CNC machinery maintenance experience.
- Experience with thermal processes or furnaces.
- Experience using CMMS systems.
- Aerospace or precision engineering experience.
