Role: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Worcester

Job Type: Permanent, full-time — Monday to Friday, days only

Salary Range: £45,000–£50,000 + benefits + ongoing training budget

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join an innovative advanced engineering business based in Worcester. Renowned for pushing the boundaries of precision engineering, the company invests heavily in cutting-edge technology and is looking for a hands-on engineer to help maintain and improve its world-class production facility.

Working alongside a skilled and collaborative engineering team, you'll take genuine ownership of the site's maintenance operation, from day-to-day reactive work through to long-term reliability projects. And because this is a pure days-based position, it's the perfect escape route for anyone tired of rotating shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep the factory's most critical production assets healthy through a well-planned maintenance regime, so output never skips a beat

  • Get stuck into fault-finding and repairs, whether the problem is mechanical, electrical or somewhere in between, you'll track it down and fix it

  • Look beyond the immediate fix: spot repeat issues, dig into the root cause and put permanent solutions in place

  • Work across a varied mix of plant and production equipment, from the shop floor through to the supporting services that keep the site ticking over

  • Get involved when new equipment arrives, helping to install, set up and commission it as the business expands

  • Stay on top of the paperwork, maintaining clear records that stand up to audits and industry compliance standards

  • Lead by example on safety, following safe isolation practices and helping to embed a safety-first mindset across the site

The Ideal Candidate
  • We're not just after qualifications on paper — we want someone who genuinely enjoys keeping a factory moving. You might be:

  • Apprentice-trained or qualified to Level 3 or above (HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent), with years of hands-on experience under your belt

  • At home diagnosing faults on both the mechanical and electrical side — no bias needed, you're happy working across both

  • Familiar with the demands of a busy production environment, where downtime matters and quick, sensible decisions count

  • Someone who spots the small issues before they become big breakdowns, and takes pride in doing things right first time

  • Comfortable following safe isolation and permit-to-work procedures without cutting corners

  • If your background is in CNC machinery, automated equipment or general plant maintenance, even better — but the right attitude and skill set matter more to us than the exact machines you've worked on.

Why You'll Want This Role
  • Let's be honest, most maintenance jobs out there mean nights, weekends and rotating shifts. This one doesn't. Here's what makes it worth a look:

  • £45,000–£50,000 plus a solid benefits package, rewarding your skills properly

  • A dedicated ongoing training budget, whether it's upskilling on new kit, gaining further qualifications or attending specialist courses, the company will invest in your development

  • Monday to Friday, days only, reclaim your evenings and weekends

  • The chance to get hands-on with genuinely advanced engineering technology, not tired old kit

  • Room to make the role your own, your ideas on reliability and improvement will be heard, not ignored

  • A permanent position with a company that's growing and invested in its future and its people
