About the Role

We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a small but growing maintenance team at a well-established components manufacturing business. The company produces high-quality components primarily for the defence and advanced engineering sectors, and this role plays a vital part in keeping production running smoothly.

This is a five-day, days-based role, making it ideal for an engineer currently working shifts who is looking for a better work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment

• Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime


• Perform both mechanical and electrical fault-finding and repairs


• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase machine reliability and efficiency


• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation


• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment


• Work closely with production teams to support overall factory performance


• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and company procedures

• A time-served engineer or hold a relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent)


• Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role, ideally within a manufacturing environment


• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills


• Experience working with CNC machinery, presses, or other production equipment is desirable


• A proactive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team


• A full understanding of safe systems of work, including isolation procedures (LOTO)

• A stable, days-based role, no nights, no weekends, no shift pattern
