Job Overview

Charcroft Electronics is a leading manufacturer and distributor of electronic components, supplying customers across aerospace, defence, medical, industrial, rail and other high\-reliability sectors.

From our manufacturing facility in Llay, Wrexham, we manufacture specialist film capacitors for industrial and audio applications. We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Maintenance Engineer to support our production operations and ensure the continued reliability and performance of our manufacturing equipment.

The Role

The role is predominantly mechanical, with some electrical fault\-finding and maintenance responsibilities. You will be responsible for maintaining high\-speed winding machines and a variety of specialist manufacturing equipment used in capacitor production.

This is a hands\-on role suited to someone who enjoys problem solving, continuous improvement and working closely with production teams in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities

· Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production machinery and equipment

· Assist with electrical fault finding and basic electrical repairs

· Maintain, repair and improve high\-speed winding machines

· Minimise downtime and support efficient production operations

· Work closely with production teams to improve machine performance and reliability

· Assist with machinery upgrades, installations and improvement projects

· Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures

· Support production activities when required

· Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

About You

The successful candidate will have:

· Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment

· Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and practical skills

· Basic to intermediate electrical fault\-finding ability

· Experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment

· Excellent problem\-solving and fault\-finding skills

· The ability to work independently and as part of a team

· A proactive and flexible approach to work

Desirable Skills \& Experience

· Experience working with high\-speed winding machinery

· Experience within capacitor, electronics, winding or precision manufacturing industries

· Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems

· Electrical qualifications or training

· Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
