We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing and production environment in Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in manufacturing maintenance, ideally gained within a food processing, FMCG, cold\-chain or refrigeration environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety and efficiency of production equipment, while supporting preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Own Car \& Driving Licence essential to go between sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programmes across the production facility.

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing and processing equipment.

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and automation\-related faults to minimise production downtime.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot controls, sensors, pneumatics, electrical systems and automated equipment.

  • Support the safe and efficient operation of all maintenance systems and production machinery.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, equipment reliability and process optimisation.

  • Work closely with the maintenance and production teams to identify and resolve recurring equipment and process issues.

  • Support the implementation of improvements and repairs across the manufacturing facility.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to downtime tracking, failure analysis and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) reporting.

  • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in line with GMP, health \& safety and company procedures.

  • Take a proactive approach to identifying potential equipment failures and addressing issues before they impact production.
Essential / desirable experience includes:
  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician or similar engineering role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong experience maintaining production and processing machinery.

  • Experience within a food processing, FMCG, cold\-chain, refrigeration or similar high\-volume production environment would be highly advantageous.

  • Good understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering, automation and industrial control systems.

  • Experience with sensors, pneumatics, controls and electrical systems.

  • Strong fault\-finding and problem\-solving ability, with the confidence to diagnose and resolve issues on production equipment.

  • Experience working within a fast\-paced production environment, where minimising downtime is a key priority.

  • Understanding of preventative and planned maintenance principles.

  • Good computer skills with the ability to complete maintenance records and reports.

  • Strong organisational and time\-management skills.

  • A proactive approach to maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance/production team.
