About the Role
Macdonald Inchyra Hotel \& Spa is looking for a reliable and practical Maintenance Assistant to support the day\-to\-day upkeep of the hotel, spa, and grounds. Working alongside the Maintenance Manager, you will help ensure that all facilities, guest rooms, and public areas are maintained to the highest standard, providing a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands\-on maintenance skills who enjoys problem solving and working in a fast\-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the hotel, spa, and grounds.
- Respond to maintenance requests from departments in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Perform basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, painting, joinery, and general building maintenance.
- Support the Maintenance Manager with inspections of guest rooms, plant areas, and public spaces.
- Help ensure all work is carried out in line with health \& safety regulations.
- Assist with maintaining tools, equipment, and maintenance stock levels.
- Work with external contractors when required and ensure work areas remain clean and safe.
- Help maintain the appearance and functionality of hotel facilities to ensure a high standard of guest experience.
- Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, or facilities role is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, or building repairs.
- Practical problem\-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekends if required.
- Experience working in hotels, leisure centres, or large buildings.
- Relevant trade skills or maintenance qualifications.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a workplace environment.
