About the Role
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will support the day\-to\-day maintenance of the hotel, ensuring our facilities, guest rooms, public areas, and equipment remain in excellent condition. You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, contributing to a safe and comfortable experience for our guests and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and repair work throughout the hotel.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from departments and guests.
- Assist with planned preventative maintenance programmes.
- Complete basic repairs, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Support the maintenance of electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems where appropriate.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Report any maintenance issues or potential hazards to the Maintenance Manager.
- Assist with setting up meeting rooms and events when required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organised condition.
- Work with external contractors when required.
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, handyman, or similar role is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and general maintenance.
- A practical, hands\-on approach with good problem\-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and emergency call\-outs when required.
