About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Main Driver / Warehouse Store Manager to join our busy kitchen and bathroom refurbishment team working across social housing properties throughout Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
This is a key role within the business and would suit someone who is highly organised, reliable and confident taking responsibility for the day\-to\-day running of a busy warehouse and stores operation.
You will be responsible for ensuring the warehouse is kept organised, stock and materials are managed correctly, deliveries are prepared efficiently and our site teams receive the correct materials when required.
Alongside managing the warehouse, you will act as one of our main drivers, completing deliveries and collections to properties and sites across Birmingham.
Previous experience organising and managing a warehouse, stores department or construction materials facility is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day\-to\-day organisation of the warehouse and stores
- Creating and maintaining an organised warehouse layout and storage system
- Ensuring materials are stored safely, correctly and in designated locations
- Managing incoming and outgoing stock and materials
- Checking deliveries against orders and reporting shortages or damaged items
- Preparing kitchen, bathroom and building materials for upcoming jobs
- Organising materials by property, address or job to ensure site teams receive the correct items
- Monitoring stock levels and notifying management when materials need to be reordered
- Keeping accurate records of stock, deliveries and collections
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely
- Completing deliveries and collections to properties and sites across Birmingham and surrounding areas
- Delivering kitchen units, worktops, bathroom suites and general building materials
- Collecting unused materials and waste from completed or ongoing jobs
- Coordinating with supervisors, tradespeople and office staff regarding materials and deliveries
- Keeping the warehouse, yard and loading areas clean, tidy and safe
- Ensuring waste is organised and disposed of correctly
- Carrying out basic vehicle checks and ensuring company vehicles are kept clean and organised
- Planning efficient delivery routes where required
- Following all company Health \& Safety procedures
- Representing the company professionally when attending occupied social housing properties
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience organising or managing a warehouse or stores environment
- Has experience with stock control, materials management or warehouse organisation
- Is extremely organised and able to create and maintain efficient systems
- Is confident taking responsibility for the warehouse and stores operation
- Has a full UK Driving Licence
- Is confident driving vans and completing multiple deliveries and collections
- Is physically fit and capable of lifting and moving kitchen, bathroom and building materials
- Has a strong work ethic and takes pride in their work
- Is reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Can prioritise workloads and manage a busy schedule
- Has good communication skills
- Can work effectively with office staff, supervisors and tradespeople
- Is comfortable working in and around occupied properties
- Understands the importance of keeping stock, materials and working areas organised
