Machine Operator - Press Brake / CNC / Laser Sparkford | £15.26 per hour | Early/Late Shift Rotation | Full-Time

Introduction Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an experienced Machine Operator to join a well-established and growing engineering and manufacturing business in Sparkford. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operator to work within a fast-paced production environment using a range of advanced machinery.

Key Duties • Set up and operate press brake, CNC router, and laser cutting machinery.

• Load and unload raw materials and finished components.


• Check materials for correct size, thickness, and grade.


• Interpret engineering drawings and work from Bills of Materials (BOMs).


• Use nesting software to optimise material usage.


• Inspect, measure, and deburr finished parts.


• Sort and organise components by job and material type.


• Complete documentation to maintain quality standards.


• Work collaboratively to achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets.


• Carry out basic machine maintenance and maintain accurate records.


• Operate additional machinery as required.


• Identify risks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.


• Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards.

Requirements • Proven experience operating press brakes, CNC routers, or laser cutting machines.

• Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing environments.


• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.


• Competent using measuring tools such as verniers, squares, protractors, and tape measures.


• Knowledge of nesting software is advantageous.


• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
