About the Role

We're looking for a hands\-on Machine Learning Engineer to join us for an initial 3\-month fixed\-term engagement, working directly with our CTO. You'll be embedded at the heart of our engineering effort, building, optimising, and testing machine learning systems that run on real hardware in demanding, real\-world conditions.

This role is ideally suited to someone with a background in autonomous systems particularly autonomous driving who is comfortable working close to the metal: writing performant CUDA and C\+\+ code, deploying models to SoC platforms, and rigorously testing what they build.

Strong performers will have the opportunity to convert to a longer\-term position with early stock options granted on the basis of performance during the initial term.

What You'll Do

  • Design, train, and optimise machine learning models for deployment on embedded and SoC\-based platforms

  • Write high\-performance code in Python, C\+\+, and CUDA to accelerate training and inference workloads

  • Deploy, profile, and optimise models on target hardware, balancing accuracy, latency, and power constraints

  • Build and maintain robust testing frameworks for ML systems, including unit, integration, and hardware\-in\-the\-loop testing

  • Work directly with the CTO to shape technical direction and deliver against an ambitious 3\-month roadmap

  • Contribute to system architecture decisions spanning ML, embedded software, and hardware integration
What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role

  • Strong programming skills in Python and C\+\+

  • Hands\-on experience with CUDA and GPU\-accelerated computing

  • Experience deploying ML models on SoC / embedded platforms

  • A rigorous approach to testing — you validate what you ship

  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver at pace in a small, fast\-moving team
Desirable:
  • Background in autonomous systems, particularly autonomous driving (perception, planning, sensor fusion, or related areas)

  • Robotics experience — hardware integration, real\-time systems, ROS, or similar

  • Familiarity with model optimisation techniques (quantisation, pruning, TensorRT, ONNX)

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for ML systems
What We Offer
  • £35,000 salary (pro rata for the 3\-month term)

  • Early stock options available after the initial term, subject to performance

  • Direct mentorship and collaboration with the CTO

  • The chance to shape core technology at a formative stage

  • Potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role
