M&E Clerk of Works (Mechanical Bias)
Ross Quality (RQ) are pleased to be recruiting for a M\&E Clerk of Works (Mechanical Bias) to work within our expanding Operations Team on a Fixed Term basis for 24 months. This is a full\-time position offering 37\.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday in Manchester.

We’re expanding our team and looking for a Mechanically Biased Clerk of Works who thrives on precision, accountability, and doing things properly.
THE ROLE
This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of quality assurance on complex building services projects.
You’ll act as a mechanical specialist on site, ensuring systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to the highest standards.
You will:
- Carry out detailed inspections of mechanical installations (HVAC, heating, ventilation, public health systems)
- Monitor compliance with specifications, drawings, and industry standards
- Produce clear, concise reports that drive improvement and accountability
- Engage with contractors and consultants to challenge poor workmanship and promote best practice
- Support the delivery of safe, efficient, and fully compliant systems
You’re technically strong — but more importantly, you care about getting it right.
- Solid background in mechanical/building services engineering
- Knowledge of CIBSE guidance, BSRIA standards, and commissioning processes
- Experience in inspection, supervision, or Clerk of Works roles
- Confidence to challenge, influence, and uphold standards on site
- Detail\-focused, proactive, and solutions\-driven
