Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E) - Manchester Salary: £70,000-£95,000 + Benefits + Bonus.
The Opportunity A leading building services contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (M&E) to take commercial responsibility for major mechanical and electrical projects across Manchester. This role suits someone who combines technical expertise with strong commercial instincts and enjoys working on complex, high-value schemes.
Key Responsibilities • Cost Management - Lead cost planning, forecasting, and financial control across multiple M&E packages.
- Contract Administration - Manage NEC/JCT contracts, variations, change control, and claims.
- Procurement & Subcontract Management - Oversee procurement, negotiate subcontract packages, and manage supply chain performance.
- Commercial Reporting - Produce accurate CVRs, valuations, and monthly commercial reports.
- Risk & Opportunity Management - Identify commercial risks and opportunities to protect and enhance project margins.
- Stakeholder Collaboration - Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to support successful project delivery.
- Background working for an M&E contractor or building services specialist.
- Excellent understanding of NEC and JCT contract forms.
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
