Lunch time support worker

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Lunch Time Support Worker to assist children during their midday break at our educational facility. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children whilst helping to cover our staff's lunch time. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with children and individuals with special educational needs in a supportive setting.

Duties

• Supervising children during lunch periods, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times


• Supporting children with eating, socialising, and engaging in appropriate behaviour


• Assisting children with autism or disabilities to participate fully in lunchtime activities


• Facilitating communication between children and staff, promoting positive interactions


• Encouraging independence and social skills through gentle guidance and teaching


• Maintaining a clean and organised dining area after use


• Supporting toddlers or younger children as needed during lunchtime routines


• Collaborating with staff to implement personalised support plans where applicable

Requirements

• Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities, is desirable


• Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills


• Ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse needs, including babies, toddlers and Pre\-schoolers.


• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children's wellbeing and development


• Must hold an NVQ level 2 or 3 in early years childcare and education.

Pay: £12\.71 per hour
