Logistics Support Supervisor.
General Description of the Role
The RAFAC Logistics Support Supervisor is a full‑time employee of the Council of RFCAs and is responsible to SO2 Logistics through the Region Logistics Teams.
The post holder is responsible for coordinating and assuring the end‑to‑end logistics distribution system across RAFAC, ensuring the safe, compliant, and effective delivery of stores and equipment to volunteers and cadets. The role acts as the central coordinating authority for logistics distribution activity with their area of responsibility, providing oversight of delivery planning, workforce coordination, and governance assurance in accordance with MOD and RAF logistics policy, the RAFAC Logistics Operating Model (LOM), and associated instructions.
The post requires regular liaison with RAF stations, RAFAC Regions, and partner organisations, and will involve travel across the UK to support distribution activity and assurance requirements.
This position is operated on an All Hours Worked (AHW) basis, averaging 42 hours per week, including routine evening or weekend working as directed by the Line Manager.

Principal Areas of Accountability, Tasks and Duties
Logistics Distribution Coordination
- Coordinate and provide functional oversight of the RAFAC logistics distribution system, in line with the RAFAC Logistics Operating Model (LOM), within their area of responsibility.

- Supervise and coordinate the output of Regional Logistics Support Officers within their area of responsibility, ensuring effective liaison with Regional Logistics Teams.
- Coordinate logistics workforce activity to support planned distribution schedules in a timely and effective manner, escalating any deficiencies in service through Regional Logistics Teams or RAFAC Logs HQ as required.
- Provide input and consultation on future development requirements of the RAFAC Logistics Operating Model (LOM) as it evolves to meet the requirements of the RAFAC Functional Operating Model (FOM).
- Support the physical distribution of stores and equipment across RAFAC in accordance with policy and safety requirements.
- Liaise with Regional Logistics Teams to plan and coordinate distribution activity, including facilitating access to RAFAC estate for delivery purposes.
- Plan and coordinate Logs Spt Supervisor and Officer support to the RAFAC National Events programme, as directed by the National Events Coordinator.
- Within available capacity, plan and coordinate Logs Spt Supervisor and Officer support to the RAFAC Region Events programme, as directed by RAFAC Logs HQ and Regional Logistics Teams.
- For allocated RAFAC/logistics‑assigned MT resources (e.g. MT vehicles allocated by a Parent Unit), manage availability and ensure all MT documentation is maintained and submitted in accordance with MT policy.
- Manage allocated logistics‑assigned estate used for the processing of stores, in accordance with RAFAC or Parent Unit requirements, to maintain a safe and assured working environment.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Parent Unit (PU) Logistics (Supply) Sections in respect of RAFAC distribution requirements.
- Maintain effective working relationships with RAFAC HQ, RAF Stations and all Region Logs Spt Supervisors.
- Support senior staff in preparing updates, briefings and decision material as required.
- Responsible for the review of documentation generated or maintained by this post within MODNet and BADER system frameworks.
- Support assurance activity by monitoring and reporting logistics delivery against MOD, RAFAC and statutory requirements.
- Identify and report any system or logistics delivery failures to RAFAC Logs HQ where resolution cannot be achieved within the Regional structure.
- Identify, record and report all risks, issues and performance matters affecting logistics distribution, maintaining appropriate records, trackers and assurance documentation to support reporting and evidence compliance.
- Line Manager for Regional Logistics Support Officers within their area of responsibility.
Essential Criteria
- Relevant experience in logistics coordination, operational support or a comparable delivery‑facing role.
- Full Clean Driving License (B)
- Communication. Experience with MS365 applications, effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and delivery timelines.
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance for access to MOD Establishments.
- Ability to obtain an Enhanced Criminal Record Certificate.
- Experience within Defence, MOD or a regulated logistics environment.
- Experience supporting organisational change or pilot implementation activity.
- Experience with MJDI
This role will require travel to MOD, RAF and RAFAC Units within the UK.
