General Description of the Role

The RAFAC Logistics Support Assistant is a full time employee of the Council of RFCAs and is responsible to the RAFAC Logistics Support Supervisor.

The post holder supports the physical distribution of uniform and authorised stores to RAFAC Squadrons, contributing to the safe, compliant and timely delivery of equipment required to enable cadet and volunteer activity. The role is delivery focused, supporting the execution of logistics distribution activity within their area of responsibility in accordance with MOD, RAF and RAFAC logistics policy and the RAFAC Logistics Operating Model (LOM).

The post requires regular liaison with Regional Logistics Teams, RAF Stations and Parent Units, and does involve travel to support Sqn delivery activity, events and logistics tasks.

The role operates on an All Hours Worked (AHW) basis, averaging 42 hours per week, including routine evening or weekend working as directed by line management.

All staff are required to take reasonable care for their own health and safety, and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

Principal Areas of Accountability, Tasks and Duties

Logistics Distribution

  • Deliver uniform, equipment and authorised stores to RAFAC Squadrons in accordance with entitlement, issue scales and policy.

  • Support the planning and execution of logistics distribution activity to meet Sqn, Regional and RAFAC requirements.

  • Physically handle, process, store and distribute uniform and equipment in line with safety and handling requirements.

  • Support delivery activity for RAFAC National and Regional events as directed by the Logistics Support Supervisor.

  • Assist with maintaining accurate delivery records, issue documentation and distribution returns.
Delivery Support and Interfaces
  • Work with Regional Logistics Teams to support delivery planning and execution.

  • Liaise with Parent Unit (PU) Logistics (Supply) Sections in support of RAFAC delivery activity.

  • For allocated RAFAC/logistics assigned MT resources, operate vehicles and support MT activity in accordance with MT policy and direction.

  • Use allocated logistics assigned estate for the processing and issue of stores in accordance with RAFAC or Parent Unit requirements.

  • Facilitate access to RAFAC estate and Parent Unit facilities to enable delivery activity.
Compliance, Risk and Assurance (Delivery Level)
  • Carry out logistics delivery activity in accordance with MOD, RAF and RAFAC policy.

  • Identify and report delivery shortfalls, risks or issues to the Logistics Support Supervisor.

  • Maintain delivery documentation, trackers and records to support assurance and reporting.

  • Support assurance activity by providing accurate delivery data and records as required.
Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in logistics delivery, distribution, or operational supply roles.

  • Full Clean Driving License (B, C1\)

  • Strong organisational skills.

  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance for access to MOD Establishments.

  • Ability to obtain an Enhanced Criminal Record Certificate.
Desirable Criteria.
  • Communication. Experience with MS365 applications, effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience within Defence, MOD or a regulated logistics environment.

  • Experience supporting organisational change or pilot implementation activity.

  • Experience with MJDI
Additional Requirements

This role will require travel to MOD, RAF and RAFAC Units within the UK.

Security clearance checks, (BPSS and SC) appropriate to grade and job role will be undertaken.
