Join Airbag Disposal UK \& Vantage Waste Solutions

Airbag Disposal UK and Vantage Waste Solutions are growing businesses specialising in the collection, transportation and compliant recycling of automotive safety restraint systems and hazardous waste across the UK and Europe.

As our business continues to develop, we're looking for an experienced Logistics Supervisor to take day\-to\-day responsibility for our Transport function in Sheffield.

This is a hands\-on supervisory role for someone who enjoys being involved in the day\-to\-day operation but is also confident leading people, improving processes and taking ownership of performance.

You'll work alongside the Transport Team and Drivers, supporting planning, coordination and problem\-solving while providing clear leadership, developing the team and helping us improve how the function operates.

The role

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the Transport Team and Drivers day to day.

  • Overseeing route planning, scheduling, collections, driver resources and operational priorities.

  • Working alongside the team to resolve operational issues, delays and changing priorities.

  • Managing performance, attendance and routine people matters, while coaching and developing the team.

  • Maintaining oversight of workload, capacity and forward planning.

  • Ensuring Transport systems, records and documentation are maintained accurately.

  • Monitoring performance and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, communication and customer service.

  • Working closely with Operations, Business Support and Compliance.

  • Ensuring relevant Transport, Driver, vehicle, ADR, waste and safety procedures are followed.
What we're looking for

Essential

  • Previous experience within transport, logistics or a similar operational environment.

  • Previous supervisory, team leadership or people\-management experience.

  • Confident people\-management skills, with the ability to set expectations, provide feedback and address issues constructively.

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

  • A practical, hands\-on approach and the ability to manage changing operational priorities.

  • Good communication and problem\-solving skills.

  • Good computer literacy and confidence using different systems and digital tools.

  • Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to records and administration.

  • A proactive approach to improving processes and ways of working.
Desirable
  • Experience within waste management, ADR or another regulated logistics environment.

  • Experience supporting the development or improvement of Transport processes.

  • Experience using operational performance information or KPIs to identify improvements.
The essential/desirable split reflects the JD, including keeping waste, ADR or other regulated logistics experience as advantageous rather than essential.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary.

  • Company pension.

  • Simplyhealth Cash Plan.

  • Tastecard employee benefits.

  • Company events.

  • Free on\-site parking.

  • Opportunity to join a growing business and play an important role in developing our Logistics function.
