We are seeking a motivated and reliable Logistics Operative to join United Utilities' Bioprocessing team at Blackburn Wastewater Treatment Works. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a vital service that helps protect the environment and support local communities.

- Pay Rate: £13.84 per hour PAYE
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 - 16:00
- Location: Blackburn Wastewater Treatment Works
- Contract Type: 6-month contract with potential to become permanent
- Carry out waste acceptance checks and basic sample testing.
- Administrate and process accompanying waste documentation and records.
- Supervise tanker movements and offloading activities on site.
- Ensure all waste streams are discharged at the correct location and in accordance with operational procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Collect monitoring samples from incoming waste consignments and Bioprocessing process assets.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and operational data.
- Support the upkeep and functionality of Bioprocessing assets through good housekeeping and basic maintenance activities.
- Promote and maintain high standards of Health & Safety across the site.
- Liaise effectively with tanker drivers, customers, regulators, and operational colleagues.
- Good level of IT competency and data entry skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Strong Health & Safety awareness.
- Ability to work independently and follow standard operating procedures.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of UK Waste Management Regulations.
- Understanding of wastewater treatment processes and controls.
- Experience carrying out sampling, testing, monitoring, or compliance activities.
- Science, environmental, waste, or wastewater-related qualification.
- Experience supervising vehicle or tanker movements on site.
- PPE will be supplied.
