Join us at Nordell as one of the UK’s leading plastics manufacturing and design refinement companies. We are looking for a Logistics Operator to support the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials, components, and finished goods across our manufacturing operation.

The Role

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will work across goods\-in, stock control, picking and kitting, production support, warehouse operations, and despatch. You will help make sure the right materials are in the right place, in the right quantity, condition, and at the right time.

The role also includes regular company van driving for customer, supplier, and inter\-site collections and deliveries.

This position is a permanent and full\-time role.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Receive, unload, and check incoming materials, components, packaging, and other deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation.

  • Identify, label, and book stock accurately onto the ERP/inventory system, maintaining batch and material traceability where required.

  • Pick, count, and kit materials accurately for production, responding to changing priorities and correctly returning unused materials to stock.

  • Put away, replenish, relocate, and consolidate stock while maintaining accurate, safe, and organised storage locations.

  • Prepare finished goods for despatch, including checking, packaging, labelling, pallet preparation, documentation, and vehicle loading.

  • Operate authorised forklift trucks and material\-handling equipment safely, completing pre\-use checks and reporting defects.

  • Carry out regular authorised customer, supplier, third\-party, and inter\-site collections and deliveries using company vehicles.

  • Complete vehicle checks and delivery, collection, and Proof of Delivery documentation accurately.

  • Support cycle counts, stock checks, stocktakes, and investigations into inventory discrepancies.

  • Identify and report damaged, contaminated, unidentified, or non\-conforming materials, following appropriate quarantine and segregation procedures.

  • Maintain accurate ERP/inventory system transactions for goods receipts, stock movements, issues, returns, and despatch.

  • Maintain high standards of 5S, housekeeping, Health \& Safety, and environmental compliance throughout Logistics areas.

  • Work closely with Production, Planning, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments to maintain material availability and prevent delays.

  • Identify practical opportunities to improve stock locations, material flow, warehouse organisation, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

  • Communicate shortages, discrepancies, delays, hazards, and other issues promptly to the appropriate colleagues or supervisors.
SKILLS:
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or stores role.

  • Practical understanding of warehouse operations and stock handling.

  • Experience accurately picking, counting, checking, and locating materials.

  • Good attention to detail, numeracy, and literacy skills.

  • Basic computer literacy and the ability to follow ERP or inventory system processes.

  • Ability to complete documentation accurately and maintain stock and material traceability.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Reliable attendance and timekeeping, with a flexible approach to changing priorities.

  • Good awareness of Health \& Safety and safe manual handling practices.

  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of a warehouse and logistics role.

  • Full UK manual driving licence, subject to company insurance requirements, as regular company van driving forms part of the role.

  • Current Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck certification is desirable.

  • Aisle Master, Flexi, or articulated forklift experience is advantageous.

  • Manufacturing, goods\-in, picking, kitting, despatch, inventory control, or cycle\-counting experience is desirable.

  • ERP/MRP/WMS experience is desirable, with DELMIAWorks / IQMS knowledge advantageous but not essential.
