Role Purpose

The Logistics and Operations Controller is responsible for the efficient management of logistics, inventory control, purchasing coordination, and operational processes within a fast\-paced industrial fasteners business. The role ensures the monitoring, storage, and distribution of nuts, bolts, screws, washers, fixings, and associated engineering products while maintaining high levels of stock accuracy, customer service, and operational efficiency.

The position plays a critical role in supporting customer delivery performance, supplier management, inventory optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and manage carrier performance.

  • Maintain stock accuracy and oversee stock control processes.

  • Support resource planning and monitor operational KPIs.

  • Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and supply continuity.

  • Provide delivery, stock, and order updates to customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational procedures.

  • Produce performance reports and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills \& Experience
  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, supply chain, or operations.

  • Strong inventory management and stock control knowledge.

  • Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.

  • Excellent planning, organisational, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Experience within industrial fasteners, engineering products, manufacturing, or distribution is desirable.
Qualifications
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

  • Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or Engineering qualification desirable.
Personal Attributes
  • Highly organised and methodical.

  • Customer\-focused and commercially aware.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Proactive and self\-motivated.

  • Collaborative team player.
Pay: From £28,000\.00 per year
