Locum Senior Planning Solicitor

Locum Senior Planning Solicitor – Local Authority – South West – £75 /hr via Umbrella – Full Time - Monthly Committee Attendance

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are assisting a brilliant South West based Local Authority in their search for a Locum Senior Planning Solicitor.

This is a locum role for an initial term of 6 months and is subject to extension thereafter. They are looking to recruit on a full-time basis with the ideal candidate working 37 hours per week across 5 days, however part time applications will also be considered. For this position you will need to be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with previous Local Authority Planning experience and experience attending Planning Committees.

Duties may include the following:

• Providing high quality legal advice and assitance to support clients


• Undertaking work and supervision in respect of all areas in Planning, including but not limited to: Section 106 obligations, Development Management, Planning Enforcement, Local Plans and Community Infrasturcture Levy


• Attending planning committees on-site once per month


• Advising and representing clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties in planning matters

For the right candidate, they are offering a rate of up to £75 per hour via umbrella for this position dependant on experience. Attendance at a Planning Committee is required once per month, otherwise this role is fully remote.
