Role Overview

The Agency Locum Consultant will provide senior clinical leadership and high‑quality patient care across designated departments within the NHS Trust. The postholder is expected to integrate quickly into existing teams, support service continuity, and maintain safe clinical standards throughout the assignment.

Key Duties

• Clinical management of inpatients and outpatients


• Participation in ward rounds, MDTs, and case discussions


• Delivery of outpatient clinics and procedural sessions


• Contribution to on‑call rota (if required)


• Supervision of junior medical staff and AHPs


• Ensuring compliance with Trust governance, safeguarding, and documentation standards


• Supporting service delivery during periods of staff shortage or increased demand

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise


• On the Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT)


• Valid Right to Work in the UK


• Up‑to‑date mandatory training, appraisal, and DBS


• Ability to work independently and deliver consultant‑level care
