Solicitor – Military Hearing Loss Litigation
Location: Bradford
Salary: £28,000 – £75,000 per year, depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Part\-time: 4 hours per day considered

Overview
We are seeking an experienced SRA\-qualified Solicitor to join our growing legal practice, based at our Bradford office, specialising in Military Noise Induced Hearing Loss claims against the Ministry of Defence.
The successful candidate does not need previous Noise Induced Hearing Loss experience, as full training will be provided. However, they must have previous litigation experience and be confident in progressing litigated matters, preparing files, reviewing evidence, and working with counsel and other relevant parties.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a background in civil litigation, personal injury, clinical negligence, housing disrepair, credit hire, RTA, commercial litigation, or other contentious work to develop specialist expertise in MOD hearing loss litigation.
Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supervising and progressing a department caseload of MOD Military Hearing Loss claims.
- Reviewing files and ensuring matters are litigation\-ready.
- Drafting and reviewing Letters of Claim, pleadings, witness evidence, settlement documents and other legal correspondence.
- Reviewing medical evidence, audiology reports, service records and supporting documentation.
- Preparing cases for issue where required.
- Liaising with counsel, experts, defendants, clients and other relevant bodies.
- Providing clear legal advice on liability, quantum, evidence, settlement and litigation risks.
- Reviewing offers and advising on settlement strategy.
- Working alongside paralegals who will assist with file progression, evidence gathering and administrative case handling.
- Ensuring all cases are progressed efficiently, professionally and in line with relevant procedures.
- Maintaining strong client care and ensuring clients are kept updated throughout the claim process.
- Supporting the development of internal systems and best practice within the department.
The ideal candidate must have:
- Admission as a Solicitor in England and Wales and be on the SRA Roll.
- Previous litigation experience as a solicitor.
- Experience in civil litigation or contentious work.
- A good understanding of court processes, litigation procedure and case preparation.
- Strong drafting, organisation and communication skills.
- The ability to supervise a caseload and work with paralegals effectively.
- Confidence in communicating with counsel, experts and external parties.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing to a supportive team environment.
