The Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Legal Secretary to join our busy Scottish Personal Injury department, providing dedicated secretarial and administrative support to a Scottish Personal Injury Solicitor.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary who is looking to develop their career within a specialist Personal Injury team and gain further exposure to Scottish legal work and procedures.

You will work closely with the Solicitor and wider team to ensure the smooth progression of a varied caseload, providing high\-quality administrative and secretarial support and maintaining excellent standards of client care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Scottish Personal Injury Solicitor.

  • Assisting with the day\-to\-day management and progression of Personal Injury files.

  • Preparing, formatting and proofreading legal correspondence and documentation.

  • Drafting letters, emails and other documents on behalf of the Solicitor.

  • Managing diaries, appointments, meetings and key deadlines.

  • Liaising with clients, insurers, solicitors, medical professionals and other third parties.

  • Handling incoming telephone calls and client enquiries in a professional and sensitive manner.

  • Opening, maintaining and closing files in accordance with firm procedures.

  • Maintaining accurate and up\-to\-date case management records.

  • Assisting with the preparation of documentation for litigation and court proceedings.

  • Obtaining medical records, reports and other relevant documentation.

  • Monitoring case deadlines and ensuring actions are progressed promptly.

  • Providing general administrative support to the department as required.
About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • An experienced Legal Secretary, ideally with previous Personal Injury experience.

  • Familiar with Scottish legal terminology, procedures and court processes.

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

  • Confident dealing with clients and third parties by telephone, email and in writing.

  • Able to manage a busy workload and prioritise competing deadlines.

  • Experienced in preparing professional legal correspondence and documentation.

  • Confident using Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.

  • A strong team player who is also able to work independently.

  • Professional, approachable and committed to providing excellent client service.
Desirable Experience

Previous experience within a Scottish Personal Injury department would be highly advantageous. Experience of working with Sheriff Court matters, personal injury litigation or Scottish court procedures would also be beneficial.

However, we would also welcome applications from experienced Legal Secretaries with transferable litigation experience who are keen to develop their knowledge of Scottish Personal Injury work.

Pay: £24,000\.00 per year
