Light Vehicle Technician
Overview
We are seeking 2 skilled Light Vehicle Technicians to join our dynamic team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of light vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidates will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem\-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. These positions offer an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about vehicle maintenance and repair to develop their skills within a professional environment. VAG Experience preferred however not essential. Training will be provided in house and dealer equivalent level training to master technician level.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify faults in light vehicles.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical components.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks accurately.
- Repair or replace damaged parts, including welding components when necessary, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with the realignment and calibration of vehicle systems to manufacturer specifications.
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid top\-ups.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts utilised for each vehicle service.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Proven experience working as a vehicle technician or mechanic specialising in light vehicles.
- Qualified light vehicle technician (level 3 or equivalent preferred)
- Full UK Driving license.
- MOT Tester qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of vehicle schematics and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic machinery.
- Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and routine maintenance procedures.
- Experience with equipment repair and general mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail when documenting work processes.
