WHO DO WE WANT TO EMPLOY? At Coral Reef Swim School we want our staff to be competent, confident, and consistent, and so we are looking for a lifeguard who has these qualities.

• We are looking for someone that is a knowledgeable and skilled lifeguard and is competent in helping to keep a safe environment for both our staff and customers.


• We are looking for someone who is confident in their job and can efficiently and effectively handle any poolside incidents that may arise.


• We are looking for someone who is consistent in their job and can attend weekly. We ask that this individual gives us plenty of notice if they are unable to attend their next shift so that we can get this sorted in time and prevent any disruption to our lessons.

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LIFEGUARD?

• Supervises swimming lessons and activities at the pool, and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.


• Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.


• Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.


• Evaluates conditions for safety and initiates aquatics emergency action plan as required.


• Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.

WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

• Proof of a recognised lifeguard qualification i.e., NPLQ or STA.


• Knowledge and ability to evaluate water conditions to determine any potential dangers or hazards.


• The ability to adjust as necessary to ensure the safety of the visitors and other staff.


• Swimming proficiency and comfort in the water.


• Ability to judge and evaluate evolving dynamics of individuals participating in aquatic activities to immediately assess their capabilities and threats to their safety.


• Knowledge of on\-site protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies.


• Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on\-site emergency medical services.

WHERE IS THE LOCATION OF THE JOB? The lessons will be running at Fitzalan High School in Cardiff. The address for this is;

\- Fitzalan High School, Leckwith Road, Leckwith, Cardiff, CF11 8AP.

WHAT DAYS AND TIMES ARE THE SHIFTS?
We are looking for an individual who is able to work on Mondays @ 6:45pm \- 8:15pm, as well as hours on a Sunday afternoon 12:45pm\-4:15pm.

As this role is a cover lifeguard role, we would be happy to accept availability for either Mondays, or Sundays.

HOW MUCH WILL YOU GET PAID? Starting at £13\.25 per hour (depending on age).

WHEN DO WE WOULD WANT YOU START? We are looking for a lifeguard who can start as soon as possible.
