Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Cheetham Hill Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Cheetham Hill, Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Teaching Assistant who is looking to secure a new role within a secondary school environment and make a genuine difference to pupils' learning and development.
The role is available ASAP and offers competitive daily pay of £110-£120 per day, depending on experience and suitability.
About the Role As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils across the school, helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment. You will provide both classroom-based and individual support, helping pupils to access the curriculum and develop their confidence, independence and academic skills.
The successful candidate will be expected to build positive relationships with pupils and staff, demonstrate excellent classroom awareness and contribute effectively to the wider life of the school.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
- Providing targeted one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
- Helping pupils to overcome barriers to learning and access the curriculum.
- Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
- Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources.
- Reinforcing positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to remain engaged with their learning.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school's support staff.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing appropriate feedback to teaching staff.
- Promoting an inclusive, respectful and positive learning environment.
- Supporting the school's policies and expectations around safeguarding, behaviour and pupil welfare.
This vacancy is specifically for candidates with previous professional experience working in schools or within the education sector.
Only applicants who have worked in schools and education will be considered. Experience working solely with children or young people outside of an educational setting will not be sufficient for this position.
The successful candidate must hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or an equivalent recognised Level 3 qualification relevant to the role).
In addition, you should have:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within a similar school-based support role.
- Experience of working within a secondary school environment.
- A strong understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant and the importance of supporting pupils effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to establish positive and professional relationships with pupils.
- A calm, patient and supportive approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
