Description du poste Are you a strategic legal leader who thrives in a fast\-moving technology environment?
We're looking for a Legal Director to lead our Southern Europe Legal Team, partnering with senior business leaders to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused legal solutions that enable growth while appropriately managing risk.
This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll shape legal strategy across the region, influence key business decisions, lead complex commercial negotiations, and drive innovation in legal service delivery. You'll also play a key role in advancing AI adoption, automation and scalable legal processes across Sage's global legal function.
Overview of the team
You'll lead the Southern Europe Legal Team as part of Sage's Office of General Counsel (OGC), working closely with regional and global legal colleagues, Centres of Excellence and business leaders across Sales, Sales Operations, Product, Marketing, Services and Partners.
As an extended member of the SEU Leadership Team, you'll help deliver strategic priorities across France, Spain and the wider Southern Europe region while contributing to global legal initiatives and the continued success of our Legal Innovation Centre. The team is passionate about collaboration, continuous improvement and using innovative technologies to deliver exceptional legal support at scale.

Hybrid Working \- 3 days per week in our Paris office and 2 days from home.
Responsabilités principales You'll be an experienced legal leader who combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial acumen and a passion for developing high\-performing teams.
What you'll be doing;
- Lead, coach and develop the SEU Legal Team, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability and high performance.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on commercial, legal, regulatory and compliance matters.
- Draft, negotiate and advise on complex commercial agreements including SaaS, AI, fintech, professional services, platform and partner arrangements.
- Support strategic business initiatives while ensuring appropriate legal governance and compliance.
- Lead the management of disputes and litigation across the region.
- Partner with global legal Centres of Excellence on privacy, intellectual property, compliance, M\&A and emerging legal matters.
- Drive innovation, legal process improvement, AI adoption and automation within the legal function.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across the business and influence decision\-making at senior levels.
- Manage external legal counsel effectively and ensure appropriate cost control.
- Contribute to multinational legal projects and champion a "One OGC" culture across the organisation.
- Qualified lawyer with at least 8 years' post\-qualification experience.
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing legal professionals.
- Extensive experience advising on technology, SaaS, AI, commercial and privacy matters.
- Exceptional contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong track record of partnering with senior business leaders and influencing complex commercial decisions.
- Experience leading large\-scale legal initiatives, including cross\-border projects.
- Ability to balance legal risk management with commercial objectives.
- Experience embedding legal compliance, governance and controls within a business environment.
- Demonstrated passion for innovation, legal transformation and continuous improvement.
- An AI\-first mindset with experience adopting technology to improve legal delivery.
- Comfortable operating within a matrixed, international organisation.
- Experience working across multiple legal jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of commercial litigation, compliance and employment law.
- A strong interest in emerging technologies, automation and machine learning.
- Hybrid work mode: 2 days of Remote working per week.
- International mobility: possibility to work abroad for up to 10 weeks over 12 months, in more than 40 countries.
