About us
------------

The Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology is part of UCL’s Division of Psychology and Language Sciences (PALS). Psychology at UCL was ranked 4th in the world in the 2025 Shanghai University Rankings. This reflects the excellent links between teaching, professional training and research within PALS.

The UCL Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) is the largest training course for Clinical Psychologists in the country with a typical annual intake of 91 Trainee Clinical Psychologists. The course is committed to a pluralistic ethos with the core purpose of training NHS Clinical Psychologists who are compassionate and culturally humble reflective scientist\-practitioners able to engage with multiple perspectives.

The DClinPsy has a well\-established Foundation Course in Systemic Theory and Practice (the Foundation Pathway) which is accredited by the Association for Family and Systemic Psychotherapy (AFSP), and we have also been piloting a new Intermediate Systemic Pathway for which the programme will seek initial accreditation with the AFSP in 2026\.

About the role
------------------

The postholder will co\-ordinate the DClinPsy’s Systemic Foundation Pathway. They will also contribute to the DClinPsy through teaching, tutoring, mid\-placement reviews and assessment, and in relation to the course’s EDI work.

The postholder will work in close liaison with the long\-standing external Lead for the Foundation Pathway and the Systemic Pathways Lead. The role will include jointly leading the application for re\-accreditation by the AFSP of the Foundation Course in Systemic Theory and Practice, and contributing to the application to the AFSP for accreditation of the new Intermediate Systemic Pathway.

This role is part\-time (2\.5 days a week). It is offered as a fixed term maternity leave cover for 12 months in the first instance.

An acceptable enhanced DBS check is required to carry out this role.

UCL offers hybrid working where appropriate and the successful applicant may normally work remotely for up to 50% per week if they wish subject to being able to meet the duties and responsibilities of the post.

A job description and person specification can be accessed at the bottom of this page.
