Teaching Personnel is seeking experienced Learning Support Assistants to join our specialist supply team supporting a range of SEND and SEMH provisions throughout the Frome area.

Unlike permanent positions, this opportunity is perfect for professionals who enjoy variety and flexibility. You'll have the freedom to accept work around your availability while continuing to make a meaningful impact within specialist educational environments.
We work with several specialist provisions across Frome, meaning you'll have access to a variety of SEND and SEMH settings. These schools support children and young people with autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, communication barriers and behavioural challenges.
Because these assignments are often booked at short notice, we are specifically looking for experienced professionals who can hit the ground running, confidently enter new settings and quickly establish positive relationships with pupils and staff.
What Can You Expect? Every placement brings a different experience, allowing you to develop your skills while supporting a diverse range of learners.
- Providing classroom-based assistance during lessons
- Delivering targeted interventions and structured activities
- Encouraging engagement and participation in learning
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation strategies
- Assisting learners to develop confidence and independence
- Promoting positive behaviour approaches
- Adapting support techniques to individual needs
- Supporting educational visits and enrichment opportunities
- Recording observations and progress updates
- Helping create safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environments
- At least 6 months of experience working with children or young people
- Previous exposure to SEND, SEMH or alternative provisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and professional attitude
- Strong adaptability and resilience
- Confidence working across multiple settings
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
