Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Manchester, M1 4HN

Hours/Contract info: Immediate start

Salary: from £15 per hour

Reed FE is seeking a dedicated and supportive Learning Support Assistant to provide cover support at an educational establishment in Manchester.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of additional learning needs. Working closely with teaching staff, you will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that enables learners to develop confidence, independence, and essential skills for their future.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and 1:1 support to learners with additional learning needs.


• Assist lecturers in delivering engaging and effective learning activities.


• Support learners to achieve their individual educational goals.


• Promote student wellbeing, confidence, and independence.


• Adapt support strategies to meet the needs of individual learners.


• Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on student progress when required.


• Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to student welfare.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Learning Mentor, or similar within a Further Education, SEN, or educational setting.


• Current safeguarding training and strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.


• Experience working within Further Education.


• Experience supporting learners with additional needs, including autism, SEMH, learning difficulties, and/or complex needs.


• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
