Are you a dedicated individual driven by the belief that every learner deserves a pathway to independence? We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive, friendly team in Stoke-on-Trent. In this role, you will assist teaching staff across a broad spectrum of academic and vocational subject areas, playing a vital part in creating an inclusive, positive learning environment for our local community.

This position is about more than classroom assistance; it is about empowering students to overcome barriers, achieve their goals, and prepare for the world beyond education. Whether you are experienced in learning support or looking to start your career in an educational setting, we provide the environment and backing you need to succeed.

Benefits: • True Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a stable, term-time-only schedule that leaves your academic holidays completely free.

  • Supportive Team Culture: Join an award-winning national social justice charity that prioritizes collaborative working, equality, and community impact.

  • Career Development: We are proud to support individuals new to learning support work, offering comprehensive guidance and pathways to build your skills in FE and special education.

  • Community Focus: Help transform lives locally by delivering tailored provision designed to meet the unique needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities: • Academic & Vocational Support: Assist teaching staff in the classroom and around the centre, supporting learners across a variety of vocational and academic subjects.
  • Learner Empowerment: Actively engage and motivate students, supporting the delivery of tailored learning programmes catered to individual abilities, needs, and interests.

  • Progress Tracking: Provide detailed feedback to teaching staff on learner progress against set academic, vocational, and pastoral targets.

  • Outcome Focus: Help learners maintain focus on achieving their desired outcomes and preparing for future progression destinations.

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Develop positive working relationships with external agencies and collaborate effectively in multi-agency settings to support holistic student needs.

Requirements: • Level 2 (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent) in English and Maths is essential.
  • An Enhanced DBS check with Barred Lists is strictly required for this post.

  • Previous experience supporting young people in an educational or FE setting, particularly those with LLDD/SEND needs, is advantageous, though full support is given to those new to the field.

Even if you don't meet every single criteria listed, if you are a resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting students and a willingness to learn, we would still love to hear from you.
