Job description

St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School, Robert’s Rd, Balby, Doncaster, DN4 0JN

Part time, Fixed Term until 21st July 2027

Term Time Only, 32\.5 hours per week

Required for September 2026

Closing Date: Wednesday 24th June 2026, 12 noon

The children, staff and governors of our schools would like to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our team

Requirements

• Be an excellent support to the class teacher and pupils


• Support fully our Catholic ethos, vision and values


• Demonstrate a passion for learning and be a practitioner that others can be inspired by


• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with parents and other stakeholders


• Be patient and understanding with pupils with SEND


• Be professional at all times and willing to undertake training


• Prepared to be hardworking, patient and flexible


• Be committed to training opportunities to support the child


• Be willing to support changing, medical or other personal hygiene


• Have relevant experience in supporting learning for pupils


• Work with the SENDCO and Inclusion manager in supporting individual pupils identified with an EHC Plan


• Be able to work with individual pupils on set targets

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. The role is engaged in regulated activity and will therefore require a children’s barred list check. Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete a self\-disclosure.
