A successful and ambitious academy in Southall is seeking a Lead Practitioner of Mathematics to join their team from September 2026. This is a permanent, full-time position for an experienced and outstanding Mathematics practitioner looking to take the next step in their leadership career.
Salary will be paid on the Leadership Scale and is negotiable depending on experience.

Lead Practitioner of Mathematics - Southall, London
- Deliver outstanding Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and, where appropriate, Key Stage 5, ensuring exceptional student progress and attainment.
- Act as a lead practitioner and role model for teaching and learning, demonstrating consistently excellent classroom practice.
- Coach, mentor and support colleagues, including Early Career Teachers, to improve teaching standards and student outcomes.
- Use assessment and performance data effectively to identify gaps, implement interventions and drive departmental improvement.
- Lead on innovative teaching strategies and contribute to whole-school initiatives focused on raising achievement.
- Promote high expectations, excellent behaviour for learning and a positive culture where all students can succeed.
- Support curriculum development and ensure teaching reflects current best practice and national educational priorities.
- Create engaging and inspiring learning experiences that foster a lifelong appreciation of Mathematics.
Qualifications and Person Specification:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree in Mathematics or a related subject
- Minimum of four years' successful teaching experience in the UK
- Proven track record of securing excellent outcomes at Key Stages 3 and 4
- Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting other teachers
- Strong understanding of effective Mathematics pedagogy and curriculum development
- Ability to analyse and use student performance data to improve outcomes
- Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics and relevant leadership qualifications would be advantageous
