Trade Finance and Lending

As a Lead Engineer (f/m/x), you will work across the full backend delivery lifecycle: design, implementation, automated testing, performance tuning and Level 3 production support. You will help shape and evolve a strategic platform in Trade Finance and Lending for one of the world's largest market participants, built around asynchronous workflow processing, enterprise integrations and robust operational controls.

The group is working on technology refresh of their IT platform to enable new services and products for customers as well as to achieve next level of business processes automation and reduce transaction costs.

The architecture covers wide range of capabilities to support global TFL business including but not limited to loan lifecycle management, collateral management, related integrations with Cash, Treasury, Risk, and Finance landscape.

Your key responsibilities

• Design, build and evolve business\-critical payment workflows and backend services for a high\-value, high\-throughput banking platform


• Own and improve integrations with internal and external systems across REST, Kafka, MQ, SEPA / Payments API and related enterprise interfaces


• Take end\-to\-end technical ownership for key platform capabilities, from design and delivery to production behavior, resilience and long\-term maintainability


• Work closely with product owners, architects, QA engineers and partner teams to define API contracts and turn business requirements into scalable technical solutions


• Write clean, testable code, improve observability and performance, and support production incidents through root\-cause analysis and permanent fixes

Your skills and experiences

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and solid professional experience building complex backend systems in Java


• Experience with distributed, event\-driven or asynchronous systems where reliability, throughput and correctness are critical


• Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and hands\-on experience with REST APIs, messaging and event streaming technologies such as Kafka, MQ and Oracle\-backed enterprise systems


• Proven ability to write automated tests, analyze runtime behavior and use modern engineering tools, including AI coding assistants, pragmatically in production\-critical environments


• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and hands\-on experience with GCP is a plus
