Job Profile
The successful candidate will act as the nominated Lead Individual for the relevant BAFE SP203\-1 modules and will ensure works are completed in accordance with BS 5839\-1, BAFE SP203\-1 requirements, manufacturer guidance and company procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Act as the nominated BAFE SP203\-1 Lead Individual.
· Provide technical guidance and support to fire alarm engineers.
· Oversee the quality and compliance of fire alarm works.
· Review designs, installations, commissioning and maintenance activities relevant to the company's BAFE scope.
· Ensure appropriate testing, certification and handover documentation is completed.
· Identify and resolve technical non\-conformances.
· Support competency assessments and training of engineering personnel.
· Maintain accurate technical and compliance records.
· Support BAFE/Certification Body audits and surveillance visits.
· Maintain knowledge of BS 5839\-1, BAFE requirements and relevant industry standards.
Minimum Qualifications \& Experience
Essential:
· Regulated Level 3 qualification or higher relevant to fire detection and alarm systems.
· Qualification must include appropriate BS 5839\-1 content relevant to the modules for which the individual will be nominated.
· Strong working knowledge of BS 5839\-1\.
· Demonstrable experience within the fire detection and alarm industry.
· Practical experience relevant to design, installation, commissioning/handover and/or maintenance, depending on the company's BAFE certification scope.
· Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
· Experience of fire alarm testing, fault finding and system compliance.
· Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- ECS FESS Systems Technician Gold Card.
- FireQual, EAL or equivalent Level 3 Fire Detection and Alarm qualification.
- Relevant electrical qualifications.
- FIA or equivalent fire alarm training.
- Manufacturer\-specific fire alarm system training.
- Previous experience acting as a BAFE SP203\-1 Lead Individual.
- Experience supporting BAFE or third\-party certification audits.
- Fire Stopping Qualification
- Fire Damper Maintenance experience
Pay: £18\.00\-£22\.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40\.0 per week
