We're looking for an experienced Lead Engineer – Software Development to join our growing Software Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the delivery of innovative software solutions that support critical infrastructure projects. You'll play a key role in shaping technical solutions, mentoring engineers and driving best practice throughout the software development lifecycle.
This is a hybrid role based primarily at our Warwick office. Most day\-to\-day work can be completed remotely but applicants should be comfortable travelling to Warwick on a regular basis as project needs. Ad hoc travel to client and partner sites in Bristol and London will also be required.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the design, development and delivery of high\-quality, scalable enterprise software solutions across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Provide line management, coaching and mentoring to a team of Software Engineers, fostering a collaborative, high\-performing engineering culture.
- Coordinate technical delivery across internal engineering teams and external software partners, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.
- Support the successful delivery of strategic software initiatives, driving technical excellence throughout.
- Champion engineering best practice, code quality, continuous improvement
- Collaborate with architects and apply technical expertise to create innovative solutions to support bids and provide estimate.
- Collaborate with architects, stakeholders and cross\-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet business and customer requirements.
- Proactively identify technical risks, resolve complex issues and strengthen the team's technical capability through hands\-on leadership and guidance.Who you are:
Key Requirements:
- Strong experience across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Proven software engineering background with experience leading development teams
- Experience with CCTV and video streaming technologies and protocols
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience developing and integrating REST APIs
- Database development experience with both SQL and no\-SQL technologies
- Experience leading technical delivery across multiple workstreams
- Expertise in the following frameworks and programming languages: .NET, Angular, SignalR, C\#, JavaScript and Python
