We are looking for an experienced and qualified Dental Nurse to join the team at 33 Dental in a Lead Dental Nurse role. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, proactive, and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the smooth day\-to\-day operation of a modern and busy dental practice.
The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time providing chairside nursing support to our General and Specialist Dentists, while also taking on leadership responsibilities. These include supporting team coordination, compliance, clinical standards, and helping to ensure the practice runs efficiently and effectively.
We are seeking a Dental Nurse with a minimum of 2 years’ experience who possesses excellent organisational and communication skills, thrives in a fast\-paced environment, and enjoys motivating and supporting colleagues. This role would suit someone who leads by example, brings positive energy to the team, and remains calm, professional, and solution\-focused under pressure.
As well as delivering outstanding clinical support, you will play a key role in maintaining a positive team culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and upholding the high standards of care that patients expect from 33 Dental.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership \& Practice Support
- Lead, support, and motivate the nursing, reception, and front\-of\-house teams.
- Promote professionalism, teamwork, and a positive working environment.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development.
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards, GDC regulations, practice policies, and clinical protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Support the management of patient feedback and complaints in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Monitor team performance and provide guidance and support where required.
- Participate in practice meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
- Help maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and patient experience throughout the practice.
- Prepare patients and surgeries for dental treatment.
- Provide chairside assistance to General and Specialist Dentists during a range of procedures.
- Maintain effective infection prevention and control procedures, including sterilisation and decontamination of instruments and equipment.
- Prepare instruments, materials, and treatment rooms for clinical procedures.
- Assist in managing medical and dental emergencies when required.
- Support dental hygienists and therapists as needed.
- Deliver exceptional patient care and reassurance throughout the patient journey.
- Accurately record treatment information and maintain patient records.
- Collect and update medical histories and patient information.
- Provide oral health education and post\-operative instructions as directed by clinicians.
- Care for and maintain dental equipment and materials.
- Manage stock levels and assist with ordering dental supplies.
- Carry out, or be willing to receive training in, iTero scans, and dental radiographs.
- Provide reception cover when required to support the wider practice team.
- GDC Registered Dental Nurse.
- Qualification from an accredited Dental Nursing programme.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a dental nursing role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Confident using dental software and computer systems.
- A positive, professional, and patient\-focused approach.
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
- Experience supporting compliance and clinical governance processes.
- Qualified in dental radiography.
- Experience with digital scanning technology, including iTero.
