PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £60,000\- £80,000 on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. Plus London Weighting Allowance of £5,441 AND 15% bonus OTE. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Join a growing department and run a team delivering reporting and insights for BBC Studios’ Digital team, as our Lead Data Analyst.

BBC Studios runs a 90\+ social portfolio as well as digital propositions for our key IP such as Bluey and Top Gear. This is a revenue generating business for BBC Studios though the channels are also used to market \& promote our content. This role will lead a team that supports on both content development and advertising sales for our digital portfolio.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Leveraging insights from digital data analysis and consumer \& audience research, contribute to the development of the BBC Studios social media strategy.

  • Support development of our digital advertising business through analysis and interpretation of current performance – identifying key levers to commercial performance and advising on content analysis to aid performance and commissioning.

  • Work with the global advertising and content sales team to develop a demand led sales and commissioning strategy.

  • Support the global advertising and content sales teams during pitches and negotiations to service and win new clients, bringing together online/social media data insights with offline audience/consumer insights.

  • Digital encompasses a wide range of businesses including social AVOD and E\-Commerce.

  • In this role, you will have the opportunity to help inform the strategy of BBC Studios’ social media brands, including: BBC Earth, Top Gear, Doctor Who, and Bluey.

  • Working with data across multiple social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, and Snapchat, you will turn data into actionable information for the business.

  • Lead and manage a team of 4\-5 data analysts, providing direction, support, and guidance to ensure high\-quality, impactful work.

  • Develop and maintain internal reporting frameworks to track KPIs, monitor business performance, and identify areas for improvement.

  • Champion effective and focused digital metrics throughout the business.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.

  • Represent the BBC at industry forums or committees.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Knowledge and experience of digital/social media (in particular YouTube, Facebook and TikTok).

  • Experience of pitching and selling.

  • Experience in line management and leading a team of data analysts.

  • Knowledge of the media landscape and the part data and analytics plays.

  • Data driven experience using Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience using Python, SQL, and data visualisation tools such as Tableau.

  • Experience across short\-term, tactical projects as well as larger more strategic pieces, which includes scoping and building roadmaps for projects.

  • Experience managing suppliers and partners to deliver clear aims.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
  • A good understanding of BBC Studios and how the Digital team contributes to its commercial success.
