About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Android Engineer to drive technical design and delivery across our mobile platform.
This is a hands\-on technical leadership role, where you will take ownership of Android architecture, lead proof\-of\-concept (POC) initiatives, and build high\-performance, secure, and scalable mobile applications.
You will work closely with engineering teams, product stakeholders, and architects to define best practices and deliver robust mobile solutions that support business\-critical use cases.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead Android technical design and architecture, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions
- Drive POC development and innovation initiatives, validating new approaches and technologies
- Develop and enhance high\-performance Android applications using modern frameworks
- Define and implement best practices in security, performance, and code quality
- Work closely with cross\-functional teams to deliver end\-to\-end mobile solutions
- Collaborate with architects and technical leaders to align with enterprise engineering standards
- Troubleshoot and optimise applications for performance, scalability, and user experience
- Support continuous improvement through code reviews, mentoring, and technical guidance
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Android development
- Strong hands\-on expertise with:
+ Kotlin (preferred) / Java
- Solid understanding of:
+ Application security and performance optimisation
+ API integration and mobile backend interaction
- Experience leading technical design and POC implementation
- Strong problem\-solving skills and ability to work in agile delivery environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non\-technical stakeholders
