Laundry Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Laundry Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and hygienic processing of laundry items within a professional environment, primarily in a hospitality setting. Previous hotel experience is desirable but not essential. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, and load laundry items into washing machines and dryers according to established procedures.


• Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety guidelines.


• Fold, iron, and package clean linen and clothing items for storage or distribution.


• Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area, ensuring all equipment and work surfaces are hygienic and organised.


• Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and notify management when stock needs replenishing.


• Assist with the delivery of clean linen to designated areas within the premises.


• Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.

• Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.


• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.


• Good organisational skills with attention to detail.


• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy laundry loads when necessary.


• Flexibility to work shifts as required, including early mornings or late evenings if needed.


• A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
