Labourer/Warehouse Operative

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Warehouse Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to materials handling, stock management, and shipping operations within a busy warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience or mechanical knowledge to develop their skills further. The position involves working with a range of equipment and systems, including forklifts and warehouse management software, ensuring efficient and safe operations across all areas of the warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Wood sanding to high standard using provided machinery


• Loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual handling techniques


• Stocking shelves and organising inventory in accordance with warehouse procedures


• Picking and packing orders accurately for dispatch


• Managing shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and label application


• Assisting with materials handling tasks, including moving heavy loads safely


• Performing basic maintenance on equipment and reporting any mechanical issues


• Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained at all times during daily operations


• Supporting stock counts and inventory audits as required

Experience

• Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate


• Familiarity with forklift operation is advantageous but not mandatory; certification is a plus


• Mechanical aptitude or construction experience can be beneficial for understanding equipment maintenance tasks


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods


• Experience in stock management, picking \& packing, shipping \& receiving, or materials handling will be highly regarded
