Laboratory Analyst

At AMG Analytical (part of AMG Chrome) we are currently looking for a Lab Shift Analyst to join our team in Rotherham. This is a hands\-on role for a detail\-oriented analyst who enjoys working in a fast\-paced, quality driven environment and have expertise in metal and refractory materials chemical and physical testing.

As a Laboratory Shift Analyst, you will carry out a broad range of varied analytical testing using established laboratory techniques including XRF, XRD, ICP\-OES, gas fusion techniques, while accurately recording and managing data using LIMS software system.

Working on a 7\-day rotating shift pattern, you’ll prepare samples, operate testing equipment, and produce accurate analytical results to support both internal and external customers.

This is a full\-time role working 12\-hour shifts over 7 days \- 4 on (DD/NN) 4 off

Key Responsibilities

· Carry out laboratory analyses using a range of testing equipment

· Prepare samples and undertake testing in line with customer requirements and deadlines

· Record, manage, maintain accurate analytical data using LIMS system

· Ensure all work complies with Health, Safety, Environmental, ISO, and Quality procedures

· Report safety issues, job updates, and complaints information to Team Leaders

· Maintain clean, safe, and well\-organised laboratory areas at all times

· Minimise waste and support continuous improvement in laboratory practices

What we’re looking for

· HNC (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or Materials Engineering

· Understanding of materials typically supplied into a laboratory environment

· Knowledge of laboratory techniques such as acid dilution, fusion testing, and XRD

· Ideally will have experience of using a LIMS system

· Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy

· Ability to follow instructions and work to tight deadlines

· A proactive team player with excellent communication skills

· Good IT skills

Working Pattern

This is a full\-time role working 12\-hour shifts over 7 days \- 4 on (DD/NN) 4 off
