Kitchen Assistant

We are currently looking for a kitchen assistant to join the Orchid Woodlands Healthcare Ltd team at Orchid Woodlands in Atherton, Manchester.

Orchid Woodlands Healthcare Ltd is a family owned care home group and providing great care every day is central to everything we do.

Purpose:

To provide varied, well balanced and nutritional meals for the people who use our service whilst maintaining the highest level of hygiene.

What you can expect:

Part time role, shifts from Monday \- Sunday. You will be required to work on some weekends.

Main Duties:

• Currently we use a meal delivery service which means the successful candidate will need to use the on site equipment to heat pre\-prepared meals and quality check all meals prior to serving.


• Paying attention to any special dietary requirements


• Ensuring a high level of cleanliness is maintained


• Cleaning


• Communication of information to senior members of staff relevant to ordering stock and menu planning


• Complying with Risk Assessments


• Maintain quality assurance systems within the kitchen


• Have a full understanding of Health \& Safety as well as Food Hygiene issues, COSHH, and working within the guidelines relating to cross infection


• Be available at short notice to cover absence and sickness.


• Work with the home manager to plan menu's for service users based on requirements


• Be adaptable to service users change of diet and be flexible in re\-planning menu's at short notice.

• One year experience in a catering environment

Job Types: Full\-time, Part\-time

Pay: £13\.45 per hour
