Key Worker in Early Intervention in Psychosis – Adult Service
Either Grade code – 3072 (Occupational Therapist or Social Worker)
OR
Grade code – 2625 (Clinical Nurse Specialist Early Intervention in Psychosis Key Worker (CNS EIPKW)

Saint John of God Community Services, Community Mental Health Services Cluain Mhuire Service are now inviting applications for the post of Key Worker in the Adult Early Intervention in Psychosis Service OR Clinical Nurse Specialist Early Intervention in Psychosis Key Worker. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, innovative and committed to providing a quality service that responds to the needs and priorities of our service users.
Role Summary
Established in 2005, the Dublin and East Treatment and Early Care Team (DETECT) is an Irish Early Intervention for Psychosis Service (www.detect.ie).
This post would suit an experienced clinician who has extensive experience working with people who present with psychosis. The Key Worker will focus on the assessment of individuals referred to the service with a possible First Episode of Psychosis (FEP). Key to this role is assertive engagement with individuals presenting with a possible FEP, the provision of detailed specialist clinical assessments, and the delivery of psychosocial interventions for the individual and their family/carers. They will also contribute to the evaluation of the EIP programme.
Minimum Requirements for Key Worker in Early Intervention in Psychosis\- Adult Service (Grade code – 3072\)
The successful candidate will possess a relevant third level qualification and in addition, candidates must at the latest date of application:
i) Be registered or be eligible for registration on the Occupational Therapists Register or Social Worker Register maintained by the relevant Registration Board at CORU
And
ii) Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience in mental health services.
And
iii) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
And
iv) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Occupational Therapists Register /Social Worker Register maintained by the relevant Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
Minimum Requirements for Clinical Nurse Specialist Early Intervention in Psychosis Key Worker (CNS EIPKW)
Candidates must have at the latest date of application:
1\. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc
2\. (a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
i) Be a registered nurse on the Psychiatric Register of Nurses and Midwives held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be eligible to be so registered.
And
(iii) Have a minimum of 1 years’ post registration full time experience or an aggregate of 1 years’ full time experience in the division of the register in which the application is being made (taking into account (ii) (iii) if relevant)
And
(iv) Have a minimum of 1 years’ experience or an aggregate of 1 years’ full time experience in specialist area of community based acute mental health care
And
(v) Have successfully completed a post registration program of study, as certified by the education provider
which verifies that the applicant has achieved a Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), National
Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 9 or higher award (equivalent to 60 ECTS or
above) that is relevant to the specialist area of care.
Candidates must also:
1\. Have knowledge and understanding of psychosis and the complex needs of this group.
2\. Be familiar with comorbid mental health conditions such as other neurodevelopmental disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, emotional dysregulation difficulties and drug and alcohol abuse.
3\. Have experience of group work and working within a multidisciplinary team.
4\. Previous experience of working in an Adult Mental Health service is essential
5\. Prior experience in new service development would be an advantage.
